2018 Biggest Loser Winners

Lydia Davila wins $180.00 from Castro County Healthcare (CCH), by coming in first place, losing 10.60 percent, in the 2018 Biggest Loser Contest. On January 29, 2018, CCH started their sign-ups for the Biggest Loser Contest. Each contestant stepped on the same scale and began their weight loss journey. Paying $25.00 to participate, they received a free fitness membership to the fitness facility at CCH for the full two months of the competition. This week, March 25 through March 31, is National Physicians Week and Castro County Healthcare (CCH) invites the community to help honor their three physicians. National Physicians Week is held each year in March to recognize the physicians that have dedicated their time to the art of medicine. Dana Cobb named CCHD’s Chief of Nursing Officer

Castro County Hospital District is pleased to announce the promotion of Dana Cobb, RN to the position of Chief of Nursing Officer (CNO). Cobb has worked for CCHD for 20 years holding many positions including; Home Health Aide, RN for Home Health and Hospice, and has been a Charge Nurse with Plains Memorial Hospital. Cobb is certified in the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), and CPR. Castro County Healthcare District (CCHD) honored their employees with an Employee Potluck Luncheon in January. They recognized the employees who had reached a certain milestone in their careers at CCHD. “It is not only a place of employment, but it becomes a second family,” said Candis Rodriguez, a 5-year honoree. The luncheon was in honor of those who have worked for Castro County Healthcare for 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years. Olivia Herrera named Employee of the Month

Castro County Healthcare awards Olivia Herrera as Employee of the Month for February. Herrera has been working for CCHD for two years and seven months as the Administrative Assistant to the CEO, Linda Rasor. Dr. Stephanie Bryan joins Castro County Healthcare

In August of 2017, Castro County Healthcare District (CCHD) introduced a new family medicine practitioner, Dr. Stephanie Bryan, Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Bryan comes to CCHD from Waurika, Okla. Sheila Higgins is now a Full Time Nurse Practitioner at CCH

Castro County Healthcare District (CCHD) welcomed Sheila Higgins, Family Nurse Practitioner (NP), to their full-time staff in December. Higgins has been working for the Medical Center of Dimmitt for the past year part time while practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Hereford, Texas for the past five and half years. “I am so happy to be home serving Castro County and the surrounding areas,” said Higgins.
